Two charges today, two more published for later, no others. The numbers on this page are the numbers in the code.
Homeowners
Posting a job and getting quotes is free. When you pay a stage into escrow, 2.5% is added and shown before you confirm. It is the price of a deposit that can't be lost: the money sits with a licensed escrow provider, not with us and not with the tradesperson, until you approve the work. The provider's own charges come out of our fee, not on top.

The prices on the quotes you receive for a job you post already include Bricks & Sparks's share (up to 15% — the full rate on jobs up to R 10 000, shrinking to 2% at R 100 000, and nothing on jobs over R 100 000), folded into each line — the quote you compare is the price you pay, plus the protection fee when you fund it. Nothing is added at the end.
Tradespeople — your own clients
Quote the customer who found you off the van, and have them pay through escrow — funded one stage ahead, retention held and released by the clock. Everyone gets 3 own-client quotes free; after that it's the plan. A firm that puts a R 1 000 000 client through escrow pays R 800 that month.
Invoiced monthly, paid by EFT, cancel any time. Your client pays the same payment-protection fee as any homeowner.
Tradespeople — your side of the protection
The homeowner pays for a deposit that can't be lost; this is your side of the same certainty — money in escrow before you start, released when the stage is approved or when the clock runs out, retention you never have to chase. Priced by value because the risk it removes grows with the job: R 50 on a R 10 000 stage, R 2 400 across a R 480 000 job. Taken off each stage as it releases, never invoiced, on every escrow job — your own clients and ours alike.

Tradespeople — jobs we bring you
On a job that came through Bricks & Sparks, each line of your quote is shown to the homeowner at your price plus our share — up to 15% — the full rate on jobs up to R 10 000, shrinking to 2% at R 100 000, and nothing on jobs over R 100 000 — folded into the prices rather than shown as a line. The rate is set by the size of your quote and applied to every line of it. You quote what you want to be paid and that is what you are paid. Your own customers carry no markup.

No lead fees, ever: you never pay to see a job, to quote, or to be listed. When the success fee starts (we'll tell you before it does, city by city), it is a share of work you completed and were paid for, taken off each stage as it releases, never invoiced. It is marginal, like a tax bracket — each slice of the job at its own rate, so there is no job size at which it pays to quote lower. Founding Pros' first 10 jobs are exempt for good. It never applies to your own clients.
