from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account.
We'll confirm your identity and do it for you within 7 days.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your password and every signed-in session
- Job addresses and access notes
- Photographs and identity or trade documents you uploaded — the files
themselves are removed from our servers
- Your notifications, and the devices registered for push
- For a tradesperson: your public profile, banking details and service
areas. The profile stops appearing in search immediately.
What is kept, and why
A record of money that actually moved has to
survive. South African company and tax law require it, and we are not
permitted to erase it on request:
- The amounts, dates and payment records of completed jobs
- Reviews you wrote — they describe someone else's work, and deleting
them would misrepresent that tradesperson's rating
- Messages you sent are replaced with "message removed at the sender's
request", so the other person's conversation still makes sense
None of it identifies you any more. Your name is
replaced, your contact details are erased, and the account can never be
signed into again.
One thing that will stop you
An account with money held in escrow or a job in
progress cannot be deleted, because deleting it would strand somebody
else's payment. Finish or cancel the job first — the Account page tells you
exactly what is outstanding.
